A macro lens and a small glass ornament produced this colorful photograph. Each bit of color is a small piece of glass melted onto the surface of clear glass. At the end of the day my favorite glassblower Garth Mudge of Glassworks, in Winthrop Wa, will put together all of the bits and pieces of colored glass that he hasn’t used in his daily projects. He then rolls them together into small round ornaments and sells them in his shop.
I had the pleasure of discovering these treasures and then exploring their surface in my studio with my camera and a Macro Lens. So this is a photograph of glass and including small particles of glass. I invite you to explore with me as I search for various shapes that capture my imagination and bring me joy.
